Elevated Temperatures Impact on the Mechanical Behavior of Reactive Powder Concrete Containing Hybrid Fibers

Reactive Powder Concrete (RPC) is a combined material that will allow the concrete industry to enhance consumption, produce economic benefits, be more durable, and environmentally friendly. Due highly dense microstructure of RPC, it performs poorly at high temperatures due formation pore pressure, which causes breakdown. This paper demonstrates outcomes an investigational study behavior six RPC mixes incorporating hybrid steel plastic waste (polypropylene) fibers after being subjected up 500 ºC. Residual compressive strength, residual splitting density were performed for all mixes. The results demonstrate drop in strength greater than reduction their corresponding strength. Furthermore, within temperature range about ºC, this mechanical showed noticeable decrease. decrement ranged between 8% 33% . Steel polypropylene also improve samples. On basis these results, mix containing mixed (25 % 75 polypropylene) recommended as appropriate extreme applications.
